Ahhhhhhhhh!

So tired... -_-

Friday morning I got up after about five and a few nights of no more than half hours of sleep each and drove down to Bloomington. It was a good day, but I am left now very tired.

I got to hang out with a bunch of awesome people. Seriously, my friends down there are really awesome, and I really do wish I was able to make it down more often.

I also got to have a workout session and a good swim session as well. I really should start working out regularly. It would be quite beneficial.

The night  progressed into helping Kara and Kylene move some furniture and set up their basement in preparation for this upcoming Friday. I'm really looking forward to it, as it's really looking to be an awesome night!

We also ended up over at Kyler and Leah's awesome apartment playing Uno after that. I introduced everyone to the draw stacking rule, and we all had fun. I ended up winning two of the three games, so that was a nice little bonus! :D

Unfortunately, I had to head home last night, as I worked at 11 the next morning, which also meant I had to miss out on Daniel's Saturday night coming home party. I did at least get to see the giant poster of him that Rachel made for the event. It is epic win.

So, leading into this morning... After getting home around 3am, I went to bed, only to be woken up at 7:30 by my manager at work. She had accidentally locked her keys in the office and I was the only person with keys she could get ahold of. That ended up taking about a half hour to get in, unlock the door, and get back home to my bed. Of course, I was up again before too long anyway.

Overall the shift at work today was pretty decent, albeit rather slow. The 10 hours definitely took their sweet time to tick by...

Which leads me here. Sitting at my computer, typing up a Livejournal entry. I am very tired, but the insomniac side of me is keeping me from actually going to sleep.

On a rather unrelated note... My mother bought a new car today. She's been driving her '96 Ford Windstar since it was bought brand new 13 years ago. All in all, I would have to say she got her money's worth out of that van. However, it's been showing it's age, and she's been considering buying a new car. She actually went down looking to try and take advantage of the Cash For Clunkers deal, but ended up getting a used car in the end. She was able to get a really nice little 2006 Kia Spectra SX with the full sports package at a good price, and was even able to get twice the Kelly Blue Book estimated trade in value for her van. The Kia is a very nice looking little car, and it handles really well also. She seems very happy with the purchase. Of course, now my car has to park next to a sporty little blue Kia... <_<

Anyway, I am going to try and get some sleep now. I have work again at 2 tomorrow, and I would like to get a good night's sleep tonight.

So this past Saturday, [info]lostswordsman and [info]1againstdaworld  got married. The days leading up to it (bachelor party and rehersal) were both amazingly fun. I met a lot of really awesome people, and had a lot of good times. On the day of the wedding, everything went off without a hitch, and everyone had a great time at both the wedding and the after party.

So, after three days of awesome, I got to get up and open at 6:30 Sunday morning for work. It really wasn't too bad though, and I was off early in the afternoon to come home and take a nap. I returned my tux from the wedding, and then spent the rest of the day relaxing. Monday I had off work, so I got a full night's sleep for the first time in awhile, and then relaxed for a little more. I ended up meeting up with Mike and Katy at Dave & Busters in the afternoon for some Pump, and then a little bit of poker and hanging out afterward. It was a good day.

Today I worked a nice mid-shift at work, and then came home, did a little bit of whatever, and then mowed the lawn. Well, I mowed part of it. The front  and a portion of the back are mowed. The lawn mower is now in the garage charging, and I am going to finish it off tomorrow. Thus is the problem with a battery powered lawn mower and a large yard.

Anyway, in other aspects of my life...

I've actually started playing my guitar a little bit again. Been practicing some chords and such. I really do enjoy playing it, and I really don't know why I've had such trouble sticking with it through the years. I'm really wanting to keep up on it this time though.

On a more personal note, I've been feeling kind of stagnant lately, for lack of a better word. I like my job, and I'm happy with the recent changes in it, as well as the possible opportunities they present. I have been feeling like a little bit of change is in order though. I guess a good place to start would be getting my house cleaned up so I can entertain here again. Besides, it would be much nicer to live in as well. So, I will be trying to make myself get off my lazy butt and do some work around the house, including my room, which I would like to do pretty much a full overhaul on.

I am thoroughly pissed off at Facebook Mobile right now.

I had it set to send me a text if I got a message, and only if I got a message. I also had it set not to text me after midnight. Now, when I started updating my status with my phone, I guess it turned on text messages when someone commented on my status. I figured that was alright, and let it slide. When I uploaded a picture from my phone, it turned on texts when I got a photo comment. At this point it was getting a little annoying, so I turned off the photo texts and the status texts. However, the status text option, even though I unclicked it, was still listed as on in my settings. Also, it kept sending me texts for photo updates as well... <_<

I also got a random text today from a number I didn't recognize that simply said "Text: Sorry, I don't know what to get "more" of." I figured it was a wrong number (had a couple others recently) and responded as such. As it turns out, it sent the response as a message to a friend of mine, which resulted in a bit of confusion.

So, tonight I turned off texts from Facebook altogether. Of course, it's still sending them, including after midnight. So yeah. I am very annoyed... <_<

I've decided I need to get out and be more active. I figure going out and rollerblading is a good, enjoyable way to do this.

Rollerblading crap and whatnot... )

Well, this has been an interesting week.

Went up to Acen with [info]kara_benninger over the weekend. Once there, we met up with the people we were staying with and had a good time of the weekend. Of course, first day there my glasses broke in half >_<. The rest of the weekend went well though. I saw Star Trek (amazing!) on Friday, won 1st in the Pump Freestyle tournament on Saturday, and generally had a good time.

Though I enjoyed the convention a lot, and I definitely plan on going again, this year made me realize that my interest in the anime fan culture just isn't the same as it used to be. I do enjoy anime still, and I do enjoy going to the con and whatnot, but I'm just not quite as excited about "OMG anime everything!" as I used to be. Whatever, it was still fun :D

Anyway, Sunday evening we made the trip back down to Indy, and Monday I took Kara back to Bloomington. Of course, on the way there, I managed to rear end someone at a stop light. We were stopped at  the light. It turned green. The cars in front started to move. I started to move. The car two cars in front of me stopped again. The car in front of me stopped. I wasn't paying enough attention and didn't hit my brakes quite soon enough. It was a pretty low speed hit, and the damage seems to pretty much just be scraping, but we exchanged information and had a police report filed. All in all it was a stupid mistake on my part. :/

This brings me to Tuesday, when I called in to work to find out my schedule for the week. I had worked Mon-Tue last week, and then taken three paid vacation days to finish the week out. The other two of vacation days I had taken this week on Mon-Tue. So, I should have only had three days of work ahead of me for the rest of this week. However, when I called in, I found out that I'm scheduled Wed-Sun this week. Apparently there's been some changes in management at another store and some people got moved around. So, they had to redo the schedule and need me to work the rest of the week. I talked to my gm, and I'm just going to get my other two vacation days somewhere else before the end of the month (need to use them before they expire in June). It's just annoying though.

So, now I need to head down to the BMV to fil out a SR21 form for the accident. I also need to ship out the iPod Shuffle I won at the Pump tournament. I sold it on eBay for $40. :D

Well, once again, I have failed miserably at posting consistently. Anyway, here are a few random things to read:

Went down to Louisville on a whim a couple of weeks ago. I had a couple of days off work and felt like getting out and doing something fun. I got to hang out with some friends, as well as meet some new people. Went to a party Thursday night and consumed far too much Jameson; I do not plan on doing that again. Spent the next day recuperating a bit and then had some fun at Daves that night. It was an awesome trip.

Been to a couple of birthday parties down in Bloomington recently. Both were quite a lot of fun, and I was very glad I got to go to both. There are a lot of awesome people down there that I wish I got to hang out with more often. Unfortunately with the hour and a half drive, and my ever changing work schedule, that's easier said than done.

All in all life has been pretty good lately, I guess. There's definitely been some awesomeness thrown in here and there. Of course, I could also bitch and whine about some things, but that would make me a whiny bitch, and seeing as I quite despise whiny bitches, I will not do so.

DDR-A-Thon 7 is right around the corner, and I really need to get my act together and start getting ready for it. I also have Acen coming up in May, and a Pump tournament [info]1againstdaworld and myself are going to be running in June. I also have tickets to see a couple of concerts in May and June, not to mention that I'll be heading down to Florida for a family reunion in June as well. It looks like I'll be fairly busy this Spring/Summer.

I'm on book four of The Sword of Truth series, Temple of the Winds. The series continues to be awesome. The TV series based on it, Legend of the Seeker, on the other hand, was expectantly disappointing. I tried to watch the first episode on HULU the other day and stopped part way through. Aside from them changing key plot elements, they didn't do a very good job with the characters, in my opinion. Oh well, I wasn't expecting much. I guess it could be a decent series, but there's no way it can hold a light to the original.

I should also mention that Attention Deficit Disorder is a very serious- Oh look, a chicken! :D

I have a headache. This is due to the fact that I had no caffeine today.

I have noticed that I have been drinking quite a lot of soda lately. It's an easy habit to get into when you get it for free at your work.

I am going to only drink soda on occasion instead of regularly. I would like to try and be more healthy, and this seems like a good place to start.

I baked a cake tonight and it is tasty. I will be baking another one Saturday night.

Once again, it's been longer than I wanted between updates. I just haven't felt like posting these last several days.

My friends are awesome. I've had absolutely great times hanging out with them lately.

I'm still not sure exactly where I'm going with my life. Regardless, I will focus on living in the now until I get things figured out.

I don't know why I randomly decided to format my post like this. Perhaps it's because a bunch of my friends have been doing those "25 fun facts" lists on Facebook lately.

The house is a mess. I really need to motivate myself to get it cleaned up.

Stupid people who don't know what they're doing are annoying. People who know what they're doing is stupid and do it anyway are even more annoying.

I'm reading Stone of Tears now, which is the second book in the Sword of Truth series. I'm nearly halfway through it, and it is very good.

You suck. Ok, I lied.

I'm going to bed now. It is late and I am tired.

I definitely need to start posting on here more. As such, I'm going to try updating on a regular basis. I think part of the reason I haven't updated in forever is that I tend to feel that I should recap on what's been happening in my life. Unfortunately, I really haven't felt like doing so for some time now. Anyway, I think a good solution is that I'm just not going to bother with it. If I feel like it later on, perhaps I write something up sometime, but for now, I'll just start fresh from where I am now.

Tuesday night I went down to Bloomington for Daniel's birthday dinner, which was quite awesome. I stayed the night in town so that I could spend Wednesday playing NX Absolute at the Great X Scape. I ended up getting there about 10:30 in the morning, and stuck around until close at 9:00 that night. All in all I got in over 30 games of NXA, and spent over $30 on tokens.

Overall I really like NXA, though the marquee is still ugly as crap. They seem to be catering to the casual/newer players a bit more with this mix, as there are a lot more lower level charts in it. There are still, of course, the difficult charts in there too, but it doesn't seem to focus on them as much.

On another note, Mike and Katy gave Wizards First Rule for Christmas, which is the first book in a series. I've really been enjoying it and it's reminded me how much I like reading a good book. I think I will try and make a habit of reading again.

I think that is about all for now.
